3-D Deer Mount

** Warning - this post may be offensive to some**

My husband has a wall in our house with his trophy hunting mounts proudly displayed.  This wall is just outside of my craft room and I thought, how funny would it be if I had a trophy of my own in my craft room?
I found a 3-D Deer head mount in the silhouette store and got to cutting.

I used purple paper for the main part of the deer, pink for the ears, black for the nose, and glitter alligator print for the antlers.

I was pretty proud how it turned out and my husband sure got a kick out of it too.  He's made sure to show it to all of his friends who come over to the house.

Candy Stick Newbie

Those of you who have followed me for a while know that I live in North Idaho but my family is in California.  It is difficult being so far away from them but Wednesday night my mom called me and said... "Guess what I'm doing???  I'm making candy sticks!!"
She had a conference to present at on Thursday and wanted to have treats to pass out to those who attended.
While she made her candy sticks, I worked on a design team project.  It was nice to "craft" together.  Defiantly something that we will have to do again.

At the end of our conversation, we both took pictures of our completed projects and shared them with one another.

I was so excited to see that she made candy sticks, she even created her own toppers and tied them with ribbon.  I think they turned out great.

She used the 1x8 bags from Jaded Blossom

I'm already looking forward to her next conference so we can craft together again!  Love you mom!!!

ScrappyDew Guest Design Day

Today's a sad day.  It is my last day as a guest designer with ScrappyDew.  I have enjoyed this group of designers so very much and appreciate their patients during my Internet issues.  I would love to at anytime come play again!!

Good news is.... just because it's my last day with this amazing design team, it's certainly not the last you'll be seeing of ScrappyDew projects, I can't get enough of these characters.

My project today is a summer activity for kiddos.

Recipe:
The adorable little girl is from the Chalk the Walk Pattern file at ScrappyDew.com
Teal and white backgrounds are from Jaded Blossom's die set to create a card to send off this fun summer gift.
and the sentiment is also from Jaded Blossom's Simply Saying's 2 set
I used my usual chalks for added design and used my purple star jelly roll pen for the stitches.

Thanks again Michelle and team, you guys are great!!

Guest Design for ScrappyDew Day

ahhh, it feel so good to be back in the grove of things.

I am lucky enough to get to guest design today for ScrappyDew.com.  I've said it before and I'll say it again, I think everything in their story is just adorable.

Today I made a simple little card using the Tree House Fun pattern.  I can see using this pattern for some more fun designs in the future.

Recipe:
Of course the Tree House Fun pattern :)
I copied the base of the tree and mirrored the duplicate, then welded it to the original to form a card base.
I scored the tree down the center and ta da! a card was made.  Ha
I ran the bark of the tree and the seat of the swing through my cuttlebug in the wood grain folder.
I also ran the leaves of the tree through my cuttlebug using a curly cue folder.
I used ink to go over the dimensions on the leaves and the bark to add more color.
The rope was cut out on tan paper and then dabbed with ink to give it a frayed effect.
I chalked the edges of the little girl and colored her hair with a garnet atyou spika pen.
I topped her beauty off with gems in her bows and across the front of her dress.
The whole card came together using the Jaded Blossom die and sentiment.

I sure hope you like her as much as I do.
I may even keep this one instead of giving it away.
