Congrats on your Promotion

A friend of mine from work was recently promoted into an acting team lead position.  She moved into a cubical with actual walls and was joked with many times about not having anything on her walls.  Well, another friend and I decided we would fix it up for her.  Her favorite football team is the Oakland Raiders.  We bought black and white streamer, printed about 20 raiders clip art pictures, and decorated wall to wall of her new office.  I immediately thought this would be a perfect opportunity to make a banner.  I found a shield like the raiders use on the campin critter cartridge.  I cut it out in 3 different sizes and layered them, then cut her name out of Ashlyn's Alphabet.  I added some stitching and a few decorative gems then strung it all together with sheer grey ribbon.
here's the final outcome, it's a bit hard to see the grey with my tan wall behind it but I sure liked the way it looks.

here's a close up of the details.

Simple Thank You's

I created some simple thank you cards for a lady at work.  Her only request was... they were to be given to men.  Let me tell you, this was one of my hardest challenges.  lol.  When it's a card for a lady, you can take just about anything and add sparkles or gems to it and it'll be fantastic.  It was hard to keep a project simple and not girly.

It was however great timing since that day, my new Jaded Blossom stamps came in the mail.  I was so super excited about this release, I think it was my favorite to date.  I can't wait to use them again!!!
The polka dot paper is from DCWV Citrus Mat stack
I bordered the bottom of it with lime green ribbon
The Jaded Blossom stamps used were: Filigree from Wedding Wishes and Thanks from Teacher appreciation

The yellow card stock on this has a neat weathered look to it, it's also from the DCWV citrus stack.
The Thank you is cut from Tie the Knot cartridge on shimmer blue DCWV paper.  I lined the bottom with a lighter blue that is showing through and topped it off with a lovely twine bow in blue and green.

Relay for Life Thank You's

Relay for Life is a big part of my extra curricular activities this time of year.  I received a request for some thank you cards for a recent zumbathon that was hosted for a fundraiser.  It was a great success and a ton of fun.  Here are the cards I made for her to use.

This teams theme was The Magic of Hope and she wanted to make sure that was incorporated in the cards.

Hope they make you smile, I sure like them.

Happy Birthday Grandpa

My grandparents are very special people to me.  I have been wanting to make a tri-fold card lately and my grandpa Taylor's was a prefect excuse to make it happen.  My grandpa enjoys fishing, laughing, and telling stories.  This card ended up just perfect for him.

I used DCWV card stock for the main card from the Lodge Stack
The trees are rust colored metal embellishments
the tree line is cut from plaintin schoolbook cricut cart on shimmer green DCWV card stock
and the fishing pole is cut from Simply charmed, I strung it with clear string and added a red crystal but colored the bottom white to look like a bobber.

I love the way it turned out, I hope you like it too!

So fun!

Some of you may already have heard that my parent's drove up to Idaho from California to surprise me for my Birthday last weekend.  My mom and I spend close to 1/2 of their time here in my craft room.  Well, on Thrusday I had to work while they cruised around town and took in the sights.  I later found out that while I was at work, my mom took the liberty in exploring and playing in my craft room to creat me a birthday card.  I absolutley love it, it's one of my favorites and is hanging on my wall with the others.  She used all scraps which was even cooler to me!
She chalked the edges of the circle, she used my favorite jaded blossom stamps, and used the pop dots and even the martha stewart corner punches that I just got!  i love it, I hope you do too.  My mom's always said she doesn't have a crafty side to her... well all know that's not true and she's proven it now!
