A Banner for Mr. Cyrus

This banner is for Miss. Jaydn's brother.
I was told that Cyrus loves Egyptian things and history.
This one was going to be a challenge but I was up for it!
I made this banner a few different times before I found a theme and idea I really liked.
I went online and found how to translate Cyrus' name into Egyptian hyrogliphics. I used my gypsy and recreated the hyrogliphics to use on the banner.
I used the jubilee font cartridge for the letters.
I tool rounded corner rectangles for the backing of the pennants and burned parchment paper around the edges to make the next layer look aged.

I was thrilled how it turned out. I hope you like it too!!

A Banner for Miss. Jaydn

A friend of mine at work had ordered name banner for her grand kids I was very excited to make the one for her grand daughter and as soon a I knew the only specification were that it was girly, my mind started moving 100 miles am hour with ideas.

I unfortunately never ended up with a finished photo but you can get the idea from the pictures I do have.

I used plaintin schoolbook cart rolly Polly for the lettering
I also used art philosophy for the banner pennants.
The butterflies are jolee's stickers.

Happy Birthday Grandpa Taylor!

My grandpa recently celebrated his birthday and as soon as I started working on his card, I knew exactly what Greeting Farm digi image I wanted to use.  My grandpa has always enjoyed fishing and when he talks about sitting on the bank drowning warms, you can see him almost imagine he was there at that very moment.

I used a brick red cardstock and topped it with a DCWV plaid paper.
I colored this cute guy using copics and at youspica pens (my favorite).
When I was done coloring him, I used my scalloped spellbinder to cut it out.
I then used a taupe chalk ink for the edges which I then went over with a chocolate brown on the edges.
I took some tan and chocolate jute to make a rustic bow.
The sentiment is from... you guessed it... Jaded Blossom.
I stamped the image on the curly label die (cut in half)
I chalked the die with brown and added it to the card with a pop dot.

This turned out to be one of my favorite cards recently.   I sure hope you like it.

Happy Bee-lated Birthday!

I have had this stamp for the longest time and have been oogling over it since I got it.  Of course it's never my intention to have to make a belated birthday card but sometimes... life just gets in the way.

There's a lot of my favorite stamp company in here (if you're tired of hearing about them... oh well!) :)  Just Kidding, they're pretty awesome and have some of the greatest designs I've seen for stamps.

I started off using a golden yellow cardstock for the card base.
The red/white backing is from DCWV's Nanna's kitchen.
The adorable bee is stamped on the fancy topper die from Jaded Blossom.
Which, surprise... the bee and sentiment are also from Jaded Blossom.  They are in the Love Stings stamp set.
I used the larger flag die to add the sentiment.
I used a stardust gel pen to add the stitching.
Both the bee and the sentiment were put on the card using pop dots.
Of course black and white twine is the best to add for a bee card!  I twirled it a bit to make it cuter.

I sure like how it turned out.  I hope you do too.

Happy Anniversary!

I want to start off by apologizing to all of my followers out there in blogger land.  I have fallen quite behind in posting my projects.  Good news... I still took photos of all of them so I'll be catching up quickly.

Today's post is an anniversary card I made for my grandparents.  I used my favorite stamps and dies from Jaded Blossom.

I used the tree and birds from the Jaded Blossom Simple Sayings stamp set.
This was a quick card to put together but I was impressed on how it came out.
The striped paper with the swirl is from a DCWV stack and I just used blue stickles to add to the tree and around the edges.  I finished it off with white stitching around the border.

I didn't want to overpower the front of the card by adding a sentiment.
So.... I tried something a little different.
I used the Jaded Blossom Flag Die and cut out matching paper with the front of the page.
I then used a sentiment from Simple Sayings 2 and topped it off with stitching to match the front.

The paper was a little shiny so the camera caught a little glare.

I hope you liked it, I heard rumor my grandparents did :)
