No, thank you...

I ran home needing to get a thank you card in the mail ASAP. 

I had no idea where to start but I knew I could reach to Jaded Blossom to help!

I grabbed my Simple Sayings and Simple Sayings 2 stamp sets and went to town.

I started off with a hot pink card stock for the backing.

Then I added a complementary colored background from DCWV's Pocket full of Posies Stack

I stamped the tree from Simple Sayings on white card stock and chalked the edges with a pink chalk

I decided that adding the same color accent square looked good so I went with that too.

Using Jaded Blossom's Flag Dies 2 I cut out the scalloped one matching the card stock backing, then with solid white used the smaller flag and chalked the edges with the same pink as I did the tree. 

I added the sentiment from Simple Sayings 2.

The tree with backing and scalloped flag die were added to the card using pop dots to give it some dimension.

After looking at the card, it needed more. 

I added the rhinestones and clear stickles to add glittery dots on the tree. 

I also colored in the larger branches of the tree and the trunk with my favorite at you spica pens.

I fell in love with this card when it was finished, one of those ones, I wanted to keep just for me.  But none the less, it's now in the mail for someone else to enjoy.

Bookmarks - take 2

Remeber a few months back I made bookmarks for a group of girls and mentioned that I'd be making them for the guys in the group?  I finally got to making them and found that I'm really enjoying making things outside of just cards.

here are the bookmarks I made this time around, very similar to the first but not quite as girly :)

Just like the last ones, I made a few without names for those who come into the group later on.

I couldn't help myself but make a bookmark for my friend who ordered them and her son.  I just think the world of this lady and as much as she like the bookmarks I had to make a special one for her and her son.  It's a little hard to see but hers is actually made from the DCWV glitter cardstock.

Valentine's Treats

Caution... This post is picture heavy and full of pink stuff...oh, and Jaded Blossom!!

I created many different Valentine's Day treats this year for co-workers and I just had to share them with you.

I made 2 different candy sticks this year, both very similar but different in their own way. 

I of course used the 1x8 bags to stack the candy in

The first one I topped with a simple heart stitched with gel pen

added a sentiment from Got Candy

and popped out a valentine candy to add beneath it.

I added the gems just to accent and add color.

the second one is very similar

I used the same sentiment from Got Candy

I cut out 2 scalloped circles with my spellbinders (one chalked with lime green)

and added the gems and diamond gel pen accents.

I also created a cute bubblegum candy treat

Using the 3x4 bags from Jaded Blossom, I filled it with colorful gumballs

Topping the color-filled bag off, I used the fancy topper die

I chalked the insert with red to give it a dusted accent

I also added the sentiments from Got Candy and Simple Sayings Valentine Edition

I took a red star gel pen and added the dots at the bottom

and what is Valentine's Day without Conversation Hearts!?!?

This was a fun one to design... and surprisingly very simple!

I took a solid piece of pink paper 2.5"x10" and scored it at 4.5", flipped it over and scored again at 4.5"

I ran the 4.5" sections through my cuttle bug using the hearts folder.

I did use adhesive on the bottom of the box to keep the candy in the holder.

Then taking Jaded Blossom's Curly label die I cut it out on white card stock

used the heart designed stamp that came with the die (it was meant to be!)

and chalked the edges with a mauve colored chalk

I added the sentiment from Got Candy

and after punching holes in the label and both sides of the holder

I tied it all together with black and white and pink and white twine

well, that's what I got for this holiday~  I sure hope you like them, they were fun to create!

My Deer Friend

When someone approaches me and asks for a card with camo that has to do with the outdoors.... I get a little giddy.  For those of you know aren't aware, I live in North Idaho amongst the trees and wildlife. (well, on the weekends at least when we're not at home in our concrete forest home)

I had a request to make a wedding card for a couple who love the outdoors and camo.  I couldn't wait to get home and start putting my ideas together.

I cut the card base out of a recycled tan colored card stock and chalked the edges with brown

Then I had dark pine tree paper (camo type) that I used for the back ground.

I twisted together some green and brown jute to add accent

and topped it all off with a jaded blossom flag and sentiment

the sentiment is from Simple Sayings 2

I used a silhouette from the cricut wildlife cart

True Love Stories

Hi All...

Today I'm displaying a card I made for a wedding. 

This couple I was told have been together for 12 years, they love to travel, and ride bikes.  It was a surprise to their family when they got married at the Justice of the Peace during a private ceremony.

As soon as I heard that they like to ride bikes, this was the first thing I thought of was this ornate bike from the Summer in Paris cart. 

I cut the flag from Jaded Blossom's flag die and stamped it with the sentiment that says

"True love stories never have endings"

I folded the cut flag after chalking the edges and adhered it with pop dots.

I also topped the card off with some bronze pearls for accent.

1st...2nd...3rd...place winners!

Got cha... not really any winners today..

Other than those that get these ribbons for their chili cook off here at work.

One of our departments is having a chili cook off today and I was asked to make ribbons for the rewards.

I was able to use scrap paper to make them, as much as I struggle with rosettes, I was able to get 3 nice ones out of the mess I made. Ha.

And of course it gave me a perfect excuse to go ribbon shopping... cause, it's not like I don't have enough at home.

For each ribbon, I made 3" rosettes and cut out scalloped circles one in the placing color and another smaller one in white. 

I chalked the edges of the white one with the placing color and used stickles to draw on the placing numbers.

I cut out a white scalloped circle and staggered the ribbons with hot glue then glued the scalloped circle on the back to make it a clean backing. 

I also had square magnets that I glued on to the backs so people here at work could easily put them on their cubicles.
